Step 1: Delete Temporary Internet Files. Open the Control Panel and click on the Internet Options category. Once the Internet Properties window pop ups, click on the “General” tab. Check the box that says “Delete browsing history on exit”. Next, tick “Temporary Internet files” and “History” and then click “Delete”.

Step 2: Remove programs related to Message Viewer Toolbar. Click Start menu and go to Control Panel. Click on “Add/Remove Programs” (Windows XP) or “Uninstall a program” (Windows 7). Then, look for any suspicious programs and remove them from your computer.

Step 3: Show all hidden files and folders.Double click on the Computer icon on the desktop. Click the Tools menu and select Folder options. Click the View tab, tick “Show hidden files and folders”, non-tick “Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)”, and click OK.

Step 4:Delete malicious files associated with Message Viewer Toolbar. Navigate to the local hard disk C, look for and delete the files related to the toolbar.

Step 5: Delete malicious registry entries. Press Windows Key + R key to open the Run command box. Type “regedit” into the Open field and press Enter. When the Registry Editor is opened, search for and remove all registry entries associated with Message Viewer Toolbar.

Step 6: Remove the toolbar from the affected browsers.

Start the browser, click Tools in top menu and select Manage add-ons.
Select Toolbars and Extensions on the left, and look for the unwanted toolbar.
Select the items and click Disable. Restart your browser.

Open Mozilla Firefox, click Tools in top menu and select Add-ons.
Select Extensions and Plugins on the sidebar, look for Message Viewer Toolbar.
Remove or disable it and restart Firefox to complete the removal.

Start Google Chrome and click on the Wrench icon in the top-right corner.
Select Settings from the drop down list.
Click on Extensions on the left to display the installed extensions.
